Reminders!
- Our Spring meeting is fast approaching and I will need to keep a ‘headcount’ for our meal. Please RSVP by June 5th.
Please remember this is an open meeting and interdisciplines are welcome, it is free and offers 2.0 CEUs for RDs! And extra 1.0 CEU if you attend the Journal Club prior – please *Dietitians* let me know if you are interested in this so I can make sure I let you know where we will meet and send an article for review!

Speaker/Topic 1 (6:30 – 7:30pm)

- Getting to the Heart of Malnutrition
- Connecting Inflammation, Malnutrition and Cardiovascular Health in CKD5. This advanced level course sheds light on the syndromes that tie together malnutrition and inflammation with the commonly seen issues of atherosclerosis and protein energy wasting. Learn about specific nutrition interventions for the CKD – ESRD patient population.
Speaker/Topic 2 (7:45 – 8:45pm)
- Deborah Degree, BSN, RN
- Peritoneal Dialysis: Nutritional Consequences & Interventions
- This program provides an overview of PD treatment and its nutritional challenges. It also discusses the implications of malnutrition on morbidity & mortality in PD patients. Lastly it presents the 3 types of PD dialysate as well as the pertinent research related to the use of amino acids as a dialysate.
